Old National Bank’s Madison branch needed a lighting upgrade to address outdated fixtures and inconsistent illumination across key operational areas. As part of a larger push to align its physical locations with evolving customer expectations and digital-first standards, the branch aimed to create a cohesive lighting experience—from the ATM vestibule to the executive conference room.
The challenge wasn’t isolated to one room or fixture. It was about achieving consistent visual quality across functionally different spaces. Teller counters needed focused, task-ready lighting. Offices required softer, screen-friendly illumination. Vault corridors demanded directional clarity. And all of it had to be designed and implemented without interrupting a single day of operations.
This was a chance to rethink the branch environment for the long-term:
Unify its visual environment while respecting room-specific functions
Reduce operational strain and meet long-term energy goals
Eliminate inconsistencies in tone, glare, and brightness
Support after-hours safety through smarter exterior zone coverage
Execute everything with minimal internal resources and zero disruption
IKIO'S PROBLEM-SOLVING APPROACH
IKIO approached the project as a multi-zone performance alignment—not a lighting swap. A total of 168 precision-engineered fixtures were deployed across varied environments:
Teller areas and offices were illuminated with Delphi architectural troffers, selected for their ability to deliver task-calibrated brightness, clear surface contrast, and uniform ambient coverage across workstations and meeting zones.
Executive rooms incorporated Zoom Series downlights in specific locations to create soft, layered lighting that complemented client-facing interactions and screen-based work.
Vaults, ATM vestibules, and drive-through lanes were upgraded with linear LED optics, aimed strategically to eliminate dark edges while avoiding over-illumination in sensitive areas.
Emergency lighting systems were custom-modeled per space to meet both functional demands and safety compliance.
The result was a cohesive, purpose-driven lighting system that enhanced visual clarity, reduced energy load, and aligned with the operational needs of every environment within the branch.

CLIENT PERSPECTIVE
"From the very beginning, IKIO’s approach was precise, professional, and thorough. The lighting changes have made a visible difference—not just aesthetically, but in how we work every day. Our teller areas are brighter, the office zones feel more focused, and even the exterior lighting adds a new level of safety. It’s a rare thing when a retrofit genuinely improves both experience and energy performance, and this one absolutely delivered. We’re glad we chose IKIO."
